Hebrews
Those following the two-year Bible reading plan with me will begin reading the book of Hebrews tomorrow, November 6. (Link to the Two-Year Bible Reading Plan)
Bible scholars can only speculate over who penned the book of Hebrews as there are no clear clues. Some possibilities are Paul, Barnabus, Apollos, or a friend of Timothy, but no one can say for certain.
The book of Hebrews (letter) was written primarily to converts who were being tempted to turn away from their new-found faith and resume their old forms of worship. The main theme of Hebrews is the supremacy of Jesus Christ—superior to the prophets, the angels, Moses, Joshua, and the high priests. The faith chapter, Hebrews 11, is often shared declaring those God declared righteous because of their faith. Some of these included Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, David, and Samuel.
