A prayer about coronavirus
Father God, help us to see your mighty hand at work through the weeks ahead as we face and wonder what the coronavirus might bring our way. Here in South Carolina our schools have been closed through the end of the month. My church has cancelled all activities for the next two weeks. Shelves in the stores are bare of many basic necessities as people have panicked and grabbed more than they needed while others have to go without. Forgive us for our self-focus that causes us to hurt others. Help us to put our confidence and trust in you instead of giving way to fear.
If we only face inconveniences, help us to make the most of our time to re-connect with those in our own households. For the next two weeks we may see more of each other than we might otherwise see in a year. Give us grace to adjust to any rough edges, but better yet, motivate us to get to know one another on a much deeper level. Help us to learn to appreciate one another more as we have the opportunity to reconnect through the next two weeks.
And if tragedy should strike during these next few weeks, help us to continue to trust in you to go through the trials with us. May we feel your presence and peace. Help us to not let any of the tragedy go to waste, but may all things draw us closer to you as you mold and shape every one of us on a daily basis. May our faith only grow stronger, no matter what comes our way.
