1 & 2 Peter
Those following the two-year Bible reading plan with me will begin reading the book of 1 Peter tomorrow, November 24, and 2 Peter on November 29. (Link to the Two-Year Bible Reading Plan)
The apostle Peter wrote First Peter to encourage the Christians who were suffering from persecution for their beliefs and new way of life and worship. Peter’s letter includes directions on how to conduct their lives in the situations in which these Christians may find themselves. He encourages them with Christ’s example of love for us.
Second Peter teaches Christians how to identify and respond to false teachers from inside the church. It also addresses the importance of personal spiritual growth, and the assurance that Christ Jesus will return.
