Ephesians
Those following the two-year Bible reading plan with me will begin reading the book of Ephesians tomorrow, October 1 (Link to the Two-Year Bible Reading Plan)
Paul wrote the book of Ephesians as a letter to the church in the city of Ephesus. You may remember from reading in Acts about the uproar over the loss of business by the silversmiths and idol makers as they accused Paul of going against the goddess Diana (AKA Artemis).
Paul’s letter to the Ephesians addressed God’s plan to bless the whole world, not the Jews alone. He challenged the church to use its gifts to be a light to the world. Paul addressed the need for Christian unity, and he also gave practical instructions on how to live a Christian life in the world and in the home. The well know passage describing the armor of God is found near the end of the book of Ephesians.
