Ezekiel
Those following the two-year Bible reading plan with me will begin reading the book of Ezekiel tomorrow, August 29. (Link to the Two-Year Bible Reading Plan Bookmarks)
God called Ezekiel to prophecy to the Jewish nation before and during the time they were led into captivity in Babylon. Under God’s direction, Ezekiel warned the people of Judah by demonstrating through his body and actions what was going to happen to them. The Jewish people did not listen to Ezekiel, yet he continued to give them God’s messages.
After the fall of Jerusalem, Ezekiel prophesied to the nations around Jerusalem that they too were going to be judged by God. But Ezekiel’s prophesies didn’t end with the destruction of all of these nations, his final prophesies were about the restoration of the nations.
Ezekiel was given many amazing visions. Here are a few of them:
- He saw the wheels with the heavenly beings on them.
- He saw and ate the scroll from God with his message to the people of Judah.
- He saw dry bones come together and come to life with new flesh and muscles.
